National Night Out Returns to Franklin and Granville Counties:

Every year, neighborhoods across the country come together for one evening with a simple goal: building stronger, safer communities.

The message behind National Night Out is simple: strong relationships between neighbors and first responders help create stronger, safer communities.

National Night Out, which began in 1984 and is celebrated in thousands of communities nationwide, is an annual community-building event that brings residents together with local police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other first responders. Instead of only meeting emergency responders during emergencies, families have the opportunity to connect with them in a fun, relaxed environment.

Why It Matters

National Night Out is about more than free food and family fun. It helps strengthen trust between residents and the people who serve their communities every day. It also gives families a chance to learn about local public safety resources, ask questions, and meet the officers, firefighters, paramedics, and volunteers who work to keep neighborhoods safe.

Whether you’re looking for a fun evening with the kids, a chance to support local first responders, or simply an opportunity to meet your neighbors, there’s a National Night Out event happening nearby.

County Beacon will continue sharing community events happening across Franklin and Granville counties throughout the week.
